About Us

The Bride

Bree

I entered this world January 23, 1985 in West Covina, California welcomed by my Mom, Jacqui, Dad, David, and three year old brother, Kenny (little bro Ryan would come five years later).

For as long as I can remember, I have had two sets of parents. My dad and step-mom, Mamie. And my Mom and step-dad, Jerry. In my sophomore year of high school, at the age of 16, I made the life-changing decision to move to Newport Beach, CA. In 2003, I graduated from Corona del Mar High School. After graduation, I made the decision to attend junior college for two years, before applying to the universities.

I was working at Express at the time, but was one foot out the door. So, in 2006, I applied and began working at 24 Hour Fitness, the gym I frequented, in Fashion Island. Not long after having worked there, I went in for an evening workout. Sitting behind the desk, where I usually sat, was a new guy, Jared.

He was cute, but young. I immediately scoffed in disbelief that the only day I decided not to bring my membership card, someone new was working who wouldn't recognize me. I started to explain that I worked there and that I usually didn't bring my card in. He looked at me suspiciously and mischievously. He smiled a charming, boyish, smile and decided to believe me.

The rest, as they say, is history…

The Groom

Jared

I was born on February 6, 1987 in Visalia, CA to my mother Marta, Father Vincent, and brother and sister Steven and Tiffany. I have always been blessed to be around a loving and fun family. As I reflect, I understand how lucky I have been to always be with someone that really loves me. My childhood was filled with sports and family trips. I remember my mom, who is from Pasadena and grew up in Seal Beach, always ``commenting`` on the fact that we should live in Southern California as opposed to Visalia. After my Junior year of High School, she made the move in an effort to re-plant our family roots in a place where we would have more opportunity. My dad stayed behind with me so I could finish my senior year, playing sports and hanging with my pals. After my high school graduation, and an epic summer living with my brother in Visalia, my mom tried to convince me to come and give the So-Cal lifestyle a try. Reluctantly, I agreed to move and try ONE semester at a local Junior College.

After my move, I needed a job. I had always been interested in health and fitness, and there happened to be a 24 Hour Fitness less than a mile from our house. My first day at work was an interesting one. I worked the afternoon shift, and was ready to go home when the night shift employee called out ``sick``. I guess I should find him and thank him, because not long after I was supposed to originally go home, my life changed forever.

Our Story

We Met

I guess you could say our mutual interest in our health and fitness lead us to each other. The first time we met, was very memorable for both of us. It happened one day in August of 2005.

We Fell in Love

For those of you who know us well, you know this has certainly been a long time coming. It has only taken us nine short years to get to where we are today.

We Got Engaged

On January 23, 2015, I turned 30 years old. Jared, knowing that it was a milestone birthday, planned a surprise to celebrate. What he had planned, I could never have imagined.

The Wedding

Attire

The first thing you should know is that our wedding, and the dress code, will be formal

Because it is taking place in Hawaii, you would think it would be casual, but because of our style, and to match our wedding decor, we have chosen for it to be a formal affair. We cannot wait until you see what we have in store!

Guidance for the guys:

Suit and tie. A tuxedo is not necessary, but please no linen.

Footwear: No sandals or sneakers.

Guidance for the ladies:

Formal gowns are welcome but not required.

Adults Only

Trust us, we love your kids. If you have received our save the date, by now you know that we have chosen to make our wedding ceremony and reception an adult only event. This decision was made with both the adult’s and the children’s best interest in mind. Because we have a bunch of outgoing, fun, alcohol-indulging friends and family as our guests, we took it upon ourselves to shield your poor little ones from what we are anticipating to be a very loud party with a lot of potential for very child inappropriate behavior.

We sincerely hope we haven’t offended, and hope you can still join us.

The Week

We hope that you will make this occasion a vacation for you and your family. Because we will be extremely busy the few days before the wedding, we are so looking forward to spending time with you afterward. Jared and I will be in Hawaii from July 28th to August 6th. We will be staying at the New Otani Kaimana Beach Hotel.

Let us know what you want to do, so we can plan! Everyone is invited!

So, let’s surf, snorkel, drive, hike, whatever!

Travel Help

We have stumbled upon this link where you can find all-inclusive packages at very reasonable rates. Check them out!

We hope this helps, because we really want you there! Good luck! See you in Hawaii!

Events

Sunday Evening

We are having a pre-wedding cocktail party on Sunday evening at 8:00 PM at The Study at The Modern Hotel in Waikiki. Everyone is invited, and we hope to see you all there!

Monday

♥ The Wedding!! ♥

Tuesday Late Morning

Because our wedding (leap year) falls on a Monday, we were hard pressed to find anything open past midnight worthwhile of a wedding afterparty. So, we have opted to have an after wedding brunch/beach hangout. Again, everyone is invited, but we are thinking that the open bar part of the wedding will make it unlikely that you will all make it. We totally understand! If you can! We will be happy to see your face. If not, we know you had a particularly good time the night before, and we will catch you later in the week!

The Wedding Rings
April 16, 2016

After two not-so-perfect versions of my custom designed wedding band didn’t work, I was so happy to find that the third version was perfect! Luckily for Jared, he was perfect the first time around and got his two weeks ago! We are so excited to wear them!

The Shoes
April 9, 2016

My squad, mom, Auntie Camille, Kenny and Lilly began by scouring South Coast Plaza for any place we could think of that might have a beautiful wedding shoe–well, namely a beautiful, sparkly shoe. We hit at least five designer stores with little luck. We even had a moment there where we thought a silver glittered Stuart Weitzman might […]

Save The Date Again
March 8, 2016

If you browse around, you might find that there are two different types of save the dates. The first batch that went out, was very elaborate and included an inflated balloon, which the recipient would pop using a pin provided,

The Venue
September 10, 2015

The venue for me is the most important element of our wedding, next to the photos and video. So, because of that, I felt I had to see all of the options in person. I’m not a particularly controlling person, and while I am widely known to be indecisive, when it comes time to make an important […]

The Wedding Planner
August 28, 2015

After deciding to explore the option of having our wedding in Hawaii, we needed one more thing: a wedding planner. Having told some of our closest friends and family members about our idea, we received a recommendation for a good planner based in Oahu. I sent her an inquiring email, and then scheduled a conference for Jared […]

I have said since the very beginning, that the two most important things about my wedding are the venue and the photography. Well, we have an amazing spot in paradise picked for our special day, so it came down to the photographer.

The Location
June 15, 2015

That is a great question, also the response we have been getting the most second to “yay, a destination wedding!” So, why Oahu? Well, to make a long story longer; it occurred to us very suddenly, but once it had, it was as good as set. When it occurred to us to start planning the […]
