If you were in the first two waves of shipping, you have already seen our save the date; which means you have had the pleasure, or pain, of popping the pretty clear balloon filled with hand-punched confetti and our little message scroll.

It was a lot of work, and a bit of moola, to get them done, but seeing the resulting videos makes it all worth it.

The Idea

The idea of the popping balloon filled with confetti, I’ll confess, was not my own. It was just a reinterpretation of an idea I saw on Pinterest, on a massive scale.

Having people film the act of popping the balloon and reading and reacting to the message inside, was an after thought. We are so glad to have thought of it, because it makes us so happy to see all of your reactions.

We hope you were lucky enough to have received a live balloon, that it didn’t traumatize you too much to pop it in your face, and that you don’t hate us too much for having to clean up the puff of confetti that inevitably dropped to your floor.

 

If you didn’t receive the balloon, it was because we have not gotten the response we expected, and it seemed to put unwanted pressure  on recipients to be on camera. To avoid that, our last wave of Save the Dates did not contain balloons to pop.
